John, If you can get the money to do it, hire Suite Solutions (http://www.suite-sol.com/) to write the EDDs and style sheets (xsl-fo and xslt) for you. Instead of struggling with it, pulling your hair out, and getting freustated, let the pros do it. Your manuals and help files will look great.
