Hi, Thanks for the many replies. It is unanimous that FM is just giving a warning that the numbering of a document that also appears in another book has changed on updating the current book. I understand that there is nothing that can be done to avoid that.
I would like the warning to just not appear as it becomes tiresome and is not useful at all. Maybe it could be added to the list of Alerts that can be deactivated in the FM Preferences. When you have a common document in your book, its page numbering will be set to how it was numbered the last time it was updated, either in the current book or any other book that it is contained in. That is where the mismatch may come from and FrameMaker is simply warning you about it. It should not be necessary to open the document and change its properties; when you update the book and dismiss the Inconsistent Numbering Properties dialog box, it should make the document's numbering the way it is supposed to be for that book. But the problem is then put to another document, or same one. I only use documents within books.
