You know, it *would* be nice if the ClipboardFormatsPriorities setting at least highlighted the new default in the Paste Special window...

Mea culpa (or in the modern rendering, ?my bad?). I wrongly expected that changing ClipboardFormatsPrioritiesto have TEXT as the first option would change the ordering in the Paste Special dialog by pushing Text to the top of the list. But what we are talking about here isNOT Paste Special, but simple Paste. <DOH!> Talk about thinking inside the box. Now my simple Paste does indeed paste as text. Problem solved. Thanks for the help. will white ViaLogy LLC From: Whites [mailto:whitefamily at mac.com] Sent: Thursday, March 06, 20087:33 AM To: White William Subject: Fwd: Is there a way topaste text as default? FWIW...I'mrunning Win XP - SP2 with FM 7.2 (latest patch/update), and there's only onemaker.ini where this change can be made, and it's in the Program Files folderin the path where FM 7.2 is installed. There is a maker.ini in the Documentsand Settings path to my UserID application data, but it doesn't even containthe line that would need to be modified. Changing the one in the Program Filespath is all it took to make the change effective on my system. Will: Please clarify: Are you saying that changing the one and only maker.ini file to have TEXT asthe first option on the line ClipboardFormatsPriorities= ...has no effect?
