You must have used the "List of" menu item instead of the "Index of" one that Jeremy suggested. The index one should generate an alphabetical list.

I want to use this same technique to make a list of the titles from my TOC, and arrange them either by WI number or alpha to create a quick hyperlink file for users easy reference.
