I installed the Win 7 64bit SP1 last week and have had 4 "black" screens of death in the two working days since then.
A "black" screen is even worse than a blue screen because the system just dies and the only way to do a restart is using the main system power switch. You might want to pass that along to your IT people and ask them to please hold off until Microsoft stabilizes SP1. It thought it was installed, started up and then hung. I ended up having to copy the FM9 DVD onto the hard drive and install that way. I had a new install of CS5 standard as a download which worked fine (no TSC3 so I have no experience there). Under XP if the Uninstaller and Win Add/Remove Programs control panel didn't work I used the Window Install Cleanup Utility (or something with a name suspiciously close to that..) to remove old installs and/or versions (including patches). That always did the trick. However under Win7, that app is no longer supported. -Matt Matt Sullivan Director of Training | roundpeg, Inc. FrameMaker 10 is an upgrade from FM9, RoboHelp and Captivate are all-new to this system, and I don't know what the relationship is with TCS3's Acrobat X and CS5's Acrobat 9, or with TCS3's Photoshop and CS5's Photoshop. It's not working. FM10 and RH9 always fail to install, but everything else seems to install OK. I get some failure messages relating to AdobeHelp and other things that seem to be under the covers, and a number that refer to things that pre-exist without upgrade paths to the new versions, but no obvious conflicts with the main products - nonetheless it is those that fail to install. Adobe Support has escalated this, but is still flailing about wildly three days later. Has anyone else had similar experiences with CS5 and TCS3?
