True, but: if you are running anything else at the same time as FrameMaker (Outlook, web browsers, Photoshop, etc.), you want as close to 4 GB available for FrameMaker. If you start with 4 GB, it is not going to be enough. RAM is cheap. I have 12 GB and rarely experience random crashes.
