It is just that kind of harm I was talking about and weak protestations from some does not thing to reduce the effect of criminals who have been provided with the means for gaining access to *our money*. There will be no other way of obtaining the software, and like it or not. Yes, I too got the FM10 expiry message. Talk about letting the cat out of the bag, even though product managers asserted there were no such measuresand even after wewere sent a bogus survey, to gauge our views, baagghh.
The only counter measure I can think of in this instanceis to get a debit card and put say $500 onto it. Use it for nothing else except for paying these types of subscriptions and top it up only when subscriptions are due.
