Hi, We did have a similar problem a while ago - suddenly, it took a really long time for a single image to be displayed while scrolling through a document.
The problem was the arrival of a new tech writer, who imported referenced images differently that the rest of us. So, image paths on the network were not all defined in the same way - most writers specified a path that identified directly a server and the new writer a virtual path that hid three different servers. This somehow seemed to confuse FM (v11). The solution was to always use the same path (we chose the virtual path). Images then began to be displayed correctly. I wrote a script to look through all of our documents to find and change any rogue path definitions. Now that we know the problem, any occurrences are quickly resolved (is in our style sheet). Hope that helps, Stephen O'BRIEN Coordonnateur de la qualité documentaire et rédacteur technique senior | Quality Coordinator for Documentation and Senior Technical Writer InnovMetric Logiciels | Software T (1) 418.688.2061 -----Message d'origine----- De : Framers [mailto:[email protected]] De la part de John Sgammato Envoyé : Wednesday, April 06, 2016 3:44 PM À : [email protected] Objet : [Framers] slow-scrolling images Have any of you worthies seen and fixed this issue? I get a very slow response in FrameMaker when scrolling through files with referenced images. Obviously, the more images the slower the response when moving through the pages in a file. It takes longer than it should for each image to appear as the page scrolls -- <http://www.actifio.com/> *John Sgammato, Documentation Architect* *e* [email protected] *c* 508.927.2083 *t* @actifiodocs <http://twitter.com/actifiodocs> 333 Wyman Street, Waltham, MA 02451 <http://twitter.com/actifio> <http://www.linkedin.com/company/399246> <https://plus.google.com/102870897962348937868/posts> <http://www.youtube.com/user/actifio> <http://www.actifio.com/> *Manage, access, and protect your data with a single platform that saves you time, money, and complexity.* _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to [email protected] Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to [email protected] _______________________________________________ This message is from the Framers mailing list Send messages to [email protected] Visit the list's homepage at http://www.frameusers.com Archives located at http://www.mail-archive.com/framers%40lists.frameusers.com/ Subscribe and unsubscribe at http://lists.frameusers.com/listinfo.cgi/framers-frameusers.com Send administrative questions to [email protected]
