I know Creative Suite 5.5 was definitely perpetual license and based on a quick eBay search, so was CS 6.0.

But it can handle and output photos and screen captures. I use both but prefer Illustrator. Illustrator's native .ai format is the same as .eps. I import .ai photos by reference into Framemaker and it works seamlessly.
