Hi, Julie:

It's not clear what you expect from a three-column layout. Wim's solution
will work with a one-column table. FM tables will flow across page breaks,
so the Table Continuation variable will work correctly. It doesn't appear
in the first column in which the table resides, but does appear in
instances of the table after a text-column break. Usually, FM pages are set
up with a single text frame, but it's also a single column. When text
overflows a page, it's really overflowing the main text frame on that page.
When it appears that a new page appears to take the overflow, what's really
happened is that FM's created a new text frame, and also created a new page
on which to display it.

Word's got a different way to manage multiple columns.

So, it would be helpful to know what you have in mind for your three-column
layout. If you want the text to flow serpentine-like down the leftmost
column, then continue down a column on its right, then finally down a third
- rightmost - column, then continue on to another page like this one, in
FM, you'll need to create a custom page layout.

If a three-column table would serve your needs, then a normal FM page
layout would work.

If you can post an example somewhere, like DropBox, of your desired layout
with a link to it, then some of us folks who like to tackle the
near-impossible challenges will be able to give you some ideas on how to
achieve it.

HTH
