In other words, if you have FrameMaker 12, you can't open FrameMaker 2019 files. If you are going to work in a mixed environment, you can save the files as MIF (Maker Interchange File) and those will open in the earlier version. Are Adobe FrameMaker 12 and the Adobe FrameMaker 2019 release that incompatible? In other versions I have worked with (e.g., 7.0 > 9.0) I don't remember encountering this problem.
