The most consistent way I've handled this is to create a paragraph tag, say <anchor landscape> to which landscape tables are attached, then define that tag in the Master Page Maps to use your landscape master page. You also need to have a unique paragraph tag for the other tables and define those in the Map to use your portrait master page.
