Dear all,

I am pleased to announce the publication of a short book, Notre musique, c'est
celle de tout le monde<https://202editions.blogspot.com/p/godard-witt.html>.

This volume is based on a three-hour interview I conducted with Jean-Luc Godard
in his studio in Rolle, Switzerland, in April 2005, about his then most recent
feature film, 'Notre musique' ('Our Music', 2004).

In advance of the interview, I had selected a number of images from his other
films and videos, which I felt anticipated or chimed with 'Notre musique'.
These images, which provided the basis for our discussion, are reproduced in
the book alongside others from 'Notre musique' itself.

In the book, Godard discusses not only 'Notre musique', and those who played an
important role in it (notably Elias Sanbar, Juan Goytisolo and Mahmoud
Darwish), but also a wide range of other topics, including the New Wave, 'Ici
et ailleurs' ('Here and Elsewhere', co-dir Anne-Marie Miéville, 1976), the
Vietnam War, the Bosnian War, Israel and Palestine, his montage practice,
digital technology, suicide, and the large exhibition project he was working on
at the time, 'Collage(s) de France' (which eventually became 'Voyage(s) en
utopie').

The book, which is in French, is published by 202 éditions. It runs to 104
pages, contains 75 images, and includes a comprehensive set of footnotes. For
further information about it, including sample pages and details of how to
order it, see the above link.

Best wishes,
Michael
