Dear Frame-workers:

I need to ensure that two 16mm film projectors run *perfectly in sync* at
the same speed and frame rate.

>From my experience, even when using two projectors of the same brand and
model, subtle variations in speed still occur. I’m looking for advice on
how to achieve precise synchronization.

In a previous art installation, I threaded a 10-meter-long film loop onto
two Eiki projectors. To manage tension, I used an external electronic
device that acted as a tension detector, briefly stopping one of the
projectors when necessary. However, this mechanism was not always reliable,
and at times, it failed—causing the loop to break. You can see a picture of
that here <https://esperanzacollado.net/WORKS/la%20releve%20II.html>.

I’ve heard that some Bauer models can stay relatively well-synced, while
Eiki projectors seem more challenging in this regard. Does anyone have
experience with this? Are there any known techniques, modifications, or
external systems that can help maintain perfect synchronization?

Thanks in advance for any insights!
