Anyway, I'll be flying on a commercial airline, and i was wondering if the
unpressurized luggage compartment
is good or bad for bulbs.
Not sure about the unpressurized bit, but I'd certainly be worried about
baggage handlers!
Should I remove the bulbs and take them in my hand luggage, or will they be
fine?
Given that they don't allow you to take tweezers on international flights these
days ("nobody move or I'll pluck your eyebrows!"), I think it would be strange
if they allowed you on board with a bunch of glass containing mercury in
gaseous form, into a sealed pressurised compartment. Then again, maybe I'm
expecting the security to make sense for some reason?!
