A group of us at MONO NO AWARE will be offering our third consecutive year of film-making workshops beginning in February 2012 right here in Brooklyn, NY. Registration opened last week, and already spots are filling up. MONO NO AWARE WORKSHOPS I know that a lot of subscribers to this list are accomplished filmmakers, but I wanted to share the workshop offerings as some of you may not have experience with some of the processing techniques taught in the hand-processing workshops or perhaps you would like to recommend them to someone in the area. We'll be offering Black & White Reversal Hand-processing, Color-Negative Hand-processing, and a longer workshop in Alternative hand processing techniques; all in conjunction with our regular workshops; Intro to 16MM (b/w reversal-Bolex/K3), Super 8MM, Direct-filmmaking & Advanced 16MM (color reversal-ARRI). The workshops are in a partnership with KODAK, Pac-Lab, and DiJiFi. All workshops include all materials, equipment, film stock, digital transfer (provided by DiJiFi) and start at just $70. The site contains examples of films made by participants of the workshops, instructor bios, dates, locations and more information to register online.
