Meg, There are film communities, festivals and co-ops all over France. In Paris there are three coops: http://cjcinema.org, http://lightcone.org, http://cinedoc.org. The "Festival des Cinémas Différents" takes place in December, as well as "Aixperimental" in Aix-en-Provence.
