Not really.... all of the other alternative processes out there are much,
much slower.

You might investigate cyanotype, carbro, talbottype processes, though,
which are entirely feasible to do at home but require several minute or hour
exposures.  You couldn't do fast action motion pictures but you might be
able to do really interesting timelapse.

Diazo microfilm is interesting; it requires a very intense exposure and
doesn't follow the reciprocity law, so long exposures don't help.  I don't
know if it is possible to use for pictorial photography or even if it is
still made but it's worth looking into.

Don't even think about wet plates.  It is possible to do at home but it
would be easier just to paint a fresco.

You could _try_ making regular gelatin plates with carageenan, but my
suspicion is that they will be so slow they won't be worth bothering with.
The gelatin chemistry actually has a lot to do with electron capture and 
increasing film speed and controlling contrast.  (This was a huge secret
for a while... in 1916 someone at Kodak figured out that gelatin made from
cows that ate mustard greens made plates that were faster than gelatin from
cows that did not and a vast amount of research went into this which lead
to an amazing increase in film speed between WWI and WWII.)
