> What precautions should one take with estar stock?

Mostly, use a camera that doesn't have a lot of motor torque, and be
very, very careful it's threaded right.

The problem is that the ESTAR stock won't break... it is very rugged,
which is why they use it for print stock. (They use it for sound recording
stock mostly because it doesn't expand and contract so much with temperature
and humidity).

This means if there is a camera jam or the magazine jams, the film will
not break, instead the camera will break.

If you have a Bolex you're probably just fine... the Bolex spring doesn't
have enough torque to do much damage if something goes wrong. With a high
speed Mitchell, if the magazine jams it'll bend the registration pin, tear
the claw, and do all kinds of damage because the Mitchell motor has enough
torque it'll keep going after it jams.
