REVELATION FILM FESTIVAL : CALL FOR PAPERS
The Revelation Perth International Film Festival is calling for papers for its
2014 Academic Conference.
We are inviting all students, academics, independent researchers, filmmakers
and film fans to submit papers and proposals for the 2014 Revelation Film
Festival Academic Conference to be held as a part of the Revelation Perth
International Film Festival.
Returning for its third year, the event is uniquely positioned as the only
conference affiliated with a film festival in Australia and offers an
opportunity for academics, filmmakers and audiences alike to come together to
explore the possibilities of cinema.
In 2013 there were two-days of papers and talks, covering topics ranging from
Russian vampire movies to Iranian cinema, Australian horror 'zines to a
deconstuction of The Lion King, as well as a very special session run by
Pozibles on crowdfunding. Attendees saw movies, went to the beach, vowed to
collaborate on projects and forged friendships.
For 2014 we are once again looking for papers and proposals, whether you are a
student, academic, independent researcher, fan or filmmaker, we are interested
in hearing from you. Abstracts (no more than 200 words) and proposals for
panels (no more than 300 words) should be submitted to j...@jacktext.net by the
end of April 2014.
There are no limits on topics, but we are especially interested in papers that
explore contemporary independent film, world cinema, documentary movies, new
and emergent genres, neglected histories, and alternative perspectives on any
aspect of film and film theory.
The conference will run on Thursday 10 and Friday 11 July 2014 as part of the
Revelation Perth International Film, which runs 3-13 July 2014.
