The Newark Museum (New Jersey, near NYC) will hold a *Festival of Color &
Light* for all ages this Saturday, October 16, featuring activities for
kids and adults. Center for Visual Music has provided a film program (16mm
and digital) which screens twice, per the request for "colorful animation
for children." From their site:

Music that explores music and color.  Films included: *Circles, Allegretto,
Radio Dynamics* (Oskar Fischinger 1934, 1943, 1942), *Tarantella* and *Polka
Graph* (Mary Ellen Bute, 1940, 1947), *Mobiles *and *Landscape* (Jules
Engel, 1978, 1971), *Sonata for Pen, Brush and Ruler* (Barry Spinello,
1968), *aura* (Richard Baily & John Buchanan, 2007), *vellum *(Robert
Seidel, 2009), and *1000 Plateaus* (Steve Woloshen, 2014). 16mm and digital.

The Fischinger films, Bute's *Tarantella*, and the Engel films are 16mm
prints. Engel films were restored with support from The National Film
Preservation Foundation.

The museum has curated another program of films at 1pm, featuring some
abstract animation.
