Hello All,
We are having many many posts on this mailing list, but
unfortunately, the signal to noise ration (SNR) is quite low, i.e.
there are very few posts with interesting information. Please bear in
mind, there are more than 600 subscribers on this list, and not
everyone is interested in just any post here.
In order to improve the situation, please think about this:
The center of free60.org is the wiki. As there is no development
going on right now, all we have, is information. We are collecting
this information in the wiki. The mailing list is another medium,
mainly for everything the wiki cannot do, like:
* discussions: If you want to share your ideas or your speculation in
order for others to comment on them, use the mailing list.
* distribution of breaking news: If something very interesting has
happened or been found out, post it to the mailing list, so that
everyone is informed.
Please do not post on the mailing list:
* dreams about how to use a modded Xbox 360 (yes, a cluster would be
cool)
* discussion about well-known facts (always consult the wiki first!)
* discussion of web services like forums or content management systems
* PHP coding or web space offers (we are content with what we have)
* logo discussion
* Xbox 1 topics (go to xbox-linux.org)
* replies to spam (they multiply the irritation)
* non-hacking topics (like official Xbox 360 features, there are
forums for that)
* comical answers
In addition, please bear in mind that the idea of free60.org at the
moment is to collect information about the Xbox 360 hardware,
especially its security system. Topics like eye-candy and PR can
wait. This is not only a mailing list issue, but a general one.
Michael
