The amazing thing about OpenSource is that you don't have a closet to
hide your skeletons in. :-)
You make good points, but universally the answer is that we will take
care of these issue when we move to 2.0. So, for now I would suggest
holding off on the non-streaming formats until we can properly add
support for them in 2.0
