freeamp 2beta* for linux

Hi

I feel very stupid asking this after sifting through the mail archive.
I seem to be missing something very fundamental I've downloaded and
compiled successfully the beta2 and 3 tar balls. ./configure make make
install. But I don't get the freeamp ui the cmdline one works fine.
What have I missed. Can somebody just please fill me in because I'd
just like to get it to work. Surely I can't be the only person to have
missed what ever I've missed or is it really that obvious.
