I have been playing around with debugging the freeamp UI, and I noticed
one phenomenon. When I pause too long in the debugger without
continuing (if the sound is stopped too long), the process will
hang in a bad way (even the debugger can't be shut down). This is 100%
reproducible - I have about 15-30 seconds of time to look at the
stack and the variable values before I have to click "Debug|Continue",
otherwise it hangs.

Is it possible that if too much "stuff" queues up in the sound driver
without getting played, the driver can hang? Maybe this is what happens
in the hang that I sometimes see when simply playing?

This is on Windows NT 4 with dual processors.
