lcdproc is a server for lcd displays.
it handles input from joysticks, keypads, lirc (infrared), ...
and output to Matrix Orbital, Crystalfonts, ... displays.
the lcdui from freeamp connects via tcp to lcdproc.
there are other clients as well, weather information, system usage,
isdn, ...
simply add support to lcdproc for your hardware, and it should work fine
with freeamp.
