  I agree it's not crystal clear there, but somehow it's mentioned. The
  manpages says that vnconfig "configures and enables vnode pseudo disk
  devices", and that "the first form of the command will associate the
  special file with the regular file allowing the latter to be accessed
  as though it were a disk."

  To my understanding, it's saying that you need to both configure and
  then enable the special <-> regular files "link", thus you should both
  "unconfigure" and disable that when finished. But once again, it does
  not clearly states that you *should* unconfigure it after finished
  using the device.
