Have you formatted your filesystem to the correct fragment/blocksizes? This usually helps on raid controllers in conjunction with the correct stripe size.I have tried using both atacontrol and ccdconfig to create stripes and mirrors of various sizes, and have found that in all cases, read performance *decreased*.
