Understood from that perspective, perhaps you can see why people might dislike top posting.

Rather, your entire response is at the top, separating itself from the context to which it refers.

Furthermore, it can be very confusing to understand precisely what you're referring to, because your response doesn't follow those parts of the post to which you refer.

Sometimes top posting makes it really hard to follow which parts of the previous posters words are being referenced.

If you think about it from the perspective of all of the readers of a thread, you might feel differently, however.

I can understand why you might feel that way.
