Hi! Well, the cpu is the last thing to look after in these circumstances. Please give data about the following things: Your hardware setup (Mainboard, IDE/SCSI-Controller, Hard drives) post your /etc/fstab and the output of "mount" just before shutting down. How do you shut down? Do you issue a halt, or do you use the shutdown -h now sequence?
