FWIW I get exactly the same issue. I installed it fine and it runs perfectly well on a FreeBSD 5.2.1 machine but on a variety of both FreeBSD 4.8 and 4.9 boxes I get the same problem. Perhaps I'll see f I can dig out an older version of bandwidthd.
