Hello,

in order to bring www/gitlab to its next big version, i need a Gem in the ports-tree i'm struggling with. Its net/rubygem-rpc, here you find its details:
https://rubygems.org/gems/grpc
https://github.com/grpc/grpc/tree/master/src/ruby

I created attached port (and various others), but always the error:

=== start ===
make[1]: illegal argument to -j -- must be positive integer!
*** extconf.rb failed ***
Could not create Makefile due to some reason, probably lack of necessary
libraries and/or headers. Check the mkmf.log file for more details. You may
need configuration options.

Provided configuration options:
        --with-opt-dir
        --without-opt-dir
        --with-opt-include
        --without-opt-include=${opt-dir}/include
        --with-opt-lib
        --without-opt-lib=${opt-dir}/lib
        --with-make-prog
        --without-make-prog
        --srcdir=.
        --curdir
        --ruby=/usr/local/bin/$(RUBY_BASE_NAME)23

extconf failed, exit code 1
=== end ===

If i remove usage of "gem" and use gmake instead, it will compile much more and results in:

=== start ===
[C]       Compiling src/core/lib/iomgr/socket_utils_linux.c
src/core/lib/iomgr/socket_utils_common_posix.c:101:39: error: use of undeclared identifier 'IP_PKTINFO'
  if (0 != setsockopt(fd, IPPROTO_IP, IP_PKTINFO, &get_local_ip,
                                      ^
1 error generated.
[C]       Compiling src/core/lib/iomgr/socket_utils_posix.c
gmake[1]: *** [Makefile:2080: /usr/ports/net/rubygem-grpc/work/grpc-1.0.0/objs/opt/src/core/lib/iomgr/socket_utils_common_posix.o] Error 1
gmake[1]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
[C]       Compiling src/core/lib/iomgr/socket_windows.c

===> Compilation failed unexpectedly.
Try to set MAKE_JOBS_UNSAFE=yes and rebuild before reporting the failure to
the maintainer.
*** Error code 1

This looks more familiar to typical linux/FreeBSD differences.

Is there anybody with advise/help out there to get this port run? GitLab has currently security issues and the update is needed to fix them.

Greetings,
Torsten
