That's a bit of a generalisation, isn't it? PHP is still scripting, but it
has relatively cryptic syntax.
What exactly is the difference between scripting and programming? I'm under
the impression that scripting is basically interpreted, whereas programming
involves compiling. Which puts AppleScript into a bit of a grey area. And
where would Java fit in?
