 depends in whose definition of scripting you believe. HyperCard invented
the term "scripting" to find a clean, fresh name for a way of programming
that doesn't frighten away non-programmers. Then later, someone probably
saw HyperCard's drawing commands and thought scripting was automating or
remote-controlling user actions, and so macro languages were also moved
into the "scripting" category.

 Today it is only a little short of a universal word that means
"programming" but sounds cooler. cf. JavaScript/ECMAScript and the likes. I
used the HyperCard definition of scripting.
