The goto code doesn't work well with helicopters. You're only ever
allowed to use half of its remaining moves when issuing goto onto an
unsafe tile. This makes sense for f.e. missiles, but in the case of a
helicopter, it doesn't immediately crash but rather lose a small
amount of HP.
We could do one of two things:
1) Allow goto anywhere in any situation. Convenient, but may easily
put inexperienced or inattentive players in a unrecoverable situation.
2) Allow goto anywhere in any situation until its health hits red, in
the case the missile-like behaviour outlined above takes effect. Maybe
too complex and bug-prone to implement? Certainly out of the scope for
Freeciv-dev mailing list
