Follow-up Comment #1, bug #14607 (project freeciv): Attached a patch to ignore the SIGPIPE signal. I adapted many of Book's patches for warclient. If the signal is caught, then fc_writesocket() should return -1 and the error would be handled in the connection code.
Also, I added that the game is automatically saved with the SIGINT, SIGHUP, SIGTERM signals like the TODO comment was saying.
