Follow-up Comment #6, bug #16469 (project freeciv):
@Anonymous: Use the Finder menu Go -> Go To Folder. Enter ~/.freeciv/saves
in the dialog box. Click the column heading titled Date Modified so the
little triangle points down, and your problematic savefile will be at the
top.
It might also be helpful to run /Applications/Utilities/Console.app after
such a crash and send us the last few lines.
