Follow-up Comment #1, bug #18042 (project freeciv):

I noticed that the same problem still persists in the RC1 release. It is very
annoying as it is quite inconvenient to play the game since you have to scroll
all the time up and down to see the bottom message box and use the top most
menu bar.
The GTK2 version my system has is 2.10.4-21. I wonder whether it is only my
system where this bug is visible or all the GTK2 client players suffer from it
but nobody cares :)
