Details:
If I set Pottery as a root_req of Alphabet in the classic ruleset -- that is,
a root_req that is also not a regular prerequisite -- trunk handles this
better than older branches (e.g. setting a goal will research the root_req
first, whereas S2_5 would give up in confusion -- I think this is a side
effect of patch #4911).
However, it seems I can research Alphabet directly without researching Pottery
-- the client lets me select Alphabet, and my research completes OK if I play
for a few turns, without my ever learning Pottery. That's not what I'd expect.
