Follow-up Comment #3:
- Replaced memset(0) with buf[0] = '\0'
- Corrected gtk3-client change to be the same as gtk2-client one (I didn't see
anything wrong in the place patch touched, whereas the bug fixed from
gtk2-client was present)
- S2_5 and S2_4 versions
