Follow-up Comment #1, patch #6818 (project freeciv): As long as Vista or later installations do not really work, because Freeciv tries to write to its own installation directory (stdout + stderr + crash RPT + map colour test output among others, strictly forbidden on Vista or later) this is a slightly odd suggestion.
The default FREECIV_PATH is also unsuited for Vista or later, because Freeciv can be only started with CWD = installation directory, or (in theory) CWD = data subdirectory of the installation directory. These issue are related, if Freeciv 2.x could be started elsewhere (e.g., in the writable modpack 2.x directory) while still finding its own install/data stuff, everything would be fine. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://gna.org/patch/?6818> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Gna! http://gna.org/ _______________________________________________ Freeciv-dev mailing list Freeciv-dev@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/freeciv-dev
