Hi!
As far as I've understood it when showing up at various Chaos Computer
Club events, recordings of talks and various happenings which takes
place has been handled by a bunch of volunteers from "Fe-M"
(Forschungsgemeinschaft elektronische Medien e.V) - which I have gotten
the image of being a university, a schooling institute with the aim on
media or something similar.
This is copied from the latest Chaos Congress event page on conferance
recordings (27C3) (Source:
https://events.ccc.de/congress/2010/wiki/Conference_Recordings) :
"Conference Recordings
The FeM, which helped us for more than 6 years with filming, cutting,
streaming and archiving the Congress, needs to buy new and better
equipment for a better video quality.
We’re pleased to communicate their call for participation. *Please visit
their website for more information and the donation-button:

Unfortunally, I have not found any contact information to the specific
volunteer group - but maybe someone else has some better luck at their
web page http://www.fem.tu-ilmenau.de/ or at the above donation link.

I have tried to contact them by [email protected] and [email protected]

If anybody has a direct contact with CCC, can he give a try?
Here is the email I sent to them:

Hello CCC crew.
In the FreedomBox project[0] we are interested in editing one of your
video talks. I'm particularly talking about the lightning talks day 2 in
this latest CCC edition (27c3) [1].
The video is available here [2].
The problem that we face is that you have released this video with the
CC by-NC-ND restrictive license, which doesn't allow us to do this.
What we are asking permissions for and what we exactly want to do is:
1) Cut the video to have just the FreedomBox talk (6 minutes)
2) Edit it adding the beginning and ending of the original video (remix).
3) Transcribe and translate it to other languages (well, it wouldn't be
a problem in the beginning because we would make subtitles, not rendered
directly into the video)
4) Release the result (under a more appropriate license like CC-by-SA)
with the rest of related videos [3].
We hope that you understand that it's important for us these permissions.
If you had any objection, don't hesitate to contact me or the FreedomBox
mailing list[4].
Thanks a lot in advance.
Cheers, Pablo.
