I don't think this is a huge barrier personally. You only have to go and subscribe once (+ occasionally as extra lists are added) right? I do agree it's important to encourage cross-group participation but that's a social problem more than a technical one. So I am +1ing the request to form lists for the other WGs that were laid out by vasile. i.e. -ux, -network, -model, -config, -apps, -sec, -docs, -platform.
