Yes, the difference is similar to the difference between NRV and UCL (and you tested UPX-NRV, didn't you?). Method -1 (one) usually gives best compression for larger executables like FreeCOM.


Well, I tried to give a hint on this, but don't know if many people understood. Expect good news regarding aPack that will allow us freely use it even more than UPX. Only two problems remain, one of them the necessity for the aPLib library to remain closed source code, open object code. But as Markus F.X.J Oberhumer (main UPX author and the only NRV author) "forgot" such a special clause in the UPX license for their closed source & closed object code & ultra proprietary NRV (still weaker than aPLib for not very big files as you see above), and it's still considered full-GPL (perhaps precisely because most people don't know that little NRV secret), the case with aPLib will be even better. So, I repeat, expect good news, but please be patient, as all good things happen slowly :)
