Hi,

It is not easy to define the words 'free' and 'open'.
How free? How open? To what extent?
I don't know if my program developed in a propriatory
OS be defined as 'impure', but all softwares finally
make use of the BIOS that is also not 'free' to my
understanding.

IMHO, without propriatory softwares being used as a
develop platform years ago, free softwares may not
exist today.

As a user, I want all softwares offered by FreeDOS
free
of charge, open source, changeable according to my
need
and no cost entailed from recreating a program.

As a programmer, I want my program source be
respected.
My identity and the orginal source are kept intact.
People change my program should deliver my original
source files as well. In the derived version, with
statments of where the original copy received and the
author identity must be maintained, and why and how
the
change is necessary.

Actually I never read completely the GNU GPL version
2,
and my English ability does not help me to understand
either.

Should FreeDOS draft a license of its own, I hope
my wishes can be considered.

regards,
BAHCL
