Hi, if you ran FORMAT 0.91o in Win kernel, most differences between FreeDOS and Win kernel should no longer cause problems. But obviously SOMETHING does cause problems: I got problem reports / details which look like at some point the root directory gets accessed at a sector BEFORE the FATs (just some empty sector) even though all initialization looks right. MS SCANDISK will later report everything as "lost cluster" because it thinks that the root directory has vanished. Very strange! As usual, I am always looking for people who can reproduce and analyze it. For now, I do not even know whether it is FreeDOS or Windows which accesses the wrong sector when trying to access the root directory, let alone WHY. The FATs themselves, however, did look fine. You could try with Linux dosfstools dosfsck 2.10 in -v mode or DOS dosfsck 2.8-fat32 or 2.10 whether that can find out more. Or you can use COPYBS or SAVEBS or similar tools to grab a copy of the boot sector, zip it, and send it. Maybe I can find something interesting.
