You mean, SST (was) doesn't works with your EMM386, because there was no RDMSR emulation?
Yes, or more accurately, EMM386 works here with SST and nowhere else because I just added the RDMSR emulation. Haven't decided whether to wait for anything else that might come along or release a new EMM386 version with the change. RDMSR was all SST needed for emulated opcode. Pretty minor change, so I might sit on the release.
PS: About option for HIMEM to limit available (allocated?) memory: is it affects only XMS2 or both XMS2 and XMS3?
XMS 3.0 functions were explicitly created to allow and report >64M allocations, so it's not much good to limit that call to <64M. The built-in throttle only affects the reported available memory for 2.0 query. You could allocate over that amount via an XMS 3.0 alloc function or multiple 2.0 alloc functions.
/MAX=<K-value> option actually stops any extended memory usage by HIMEM beyond what is listed as the value. That's all anything gets or sees through HIMEM.
