Forgot to mention, the best way I found to transfer files in and out on Knoppix boot -- fast without space considerations of CD or floppy -- is to set Knoppix up as an FTP server with a password protection and move files over the network. Trivially easy to set Knoppix up as an FTP server. You're only limited by speed of network and size of remote storage.
