I'd memtest were I you, in case of iffy RAM. Other than that, well, we know RTM already has at least one stupid bug that FreeDOS kernel had to work around.


Other than that, you might have a driver or application punching a hole in extended memory range. Just a byte at a critical area that gets shared with something else would do it.
