hi Bernd... No I do not feel like making cdrcache a part of shsucdx. Nice manuals on http://home.earthlink.net/~rlively/MANUALS/INDEX.HTM but they document no errorlevels for dynaload to be present...
Stable kernel supports at least 2 countries - Germany and USA - so people can test whether NLS date/time format selection has an effect. This does not need nlsfunc or country sys... The display / keyb / mode is a different story, it is about FONTS, not about prettyprinting of date/time/numbers. Country setting is, however, also about upcase/downcase/sorting (collating), but that is supported in the stable kernel for the built-in countries, too. Sounds like Jason's ramdisk is already very useful, more abilities than xmsdsk, same compatibility? Sorry, no time to test it myself... It is no requirement for FORMAT to obsolete SYS or to pass options to SYS - just use SYS manually and pass options manually if you need special options... About SYS itself: > -fat16 and fat32 bootsector not working. WHAT? You mean you cannot boot FreeDOS from anything else than a FAT12 drive at the moment? Sounds very bad... Then it should be made absolutely clear that people have to use the old stable SYS version, along with exact information WHICH SYS version to use and where to download it. > - SETVER, not same as CALLVER, but nobody seems to have any copies of > the FREEVER binary left? We already know that the sources are lost. ... > disassembling a binary which is the result of viewing leaked MS sources? Nobody ever said FREEVER would be made out of MS sources, who claimed that? As far as I know, sources got lost in a disk crash, but license was okay, so there would be no problem in reconstructing sources if we find a binary.
